Our Story
Welcome to Moore Learning Preschool & Childcare Center, a place built on our dedication to nurturing children through play and development. Our focus is clear: to create a preschool and childcare center where children thrive, developing social, emotional, and early academic skills in a warm, engaging environment that prioritizes creativity and imagination over rigid structure.

How It All Began
Moore Learning was founded in 2017 by Frisha Moore, inspired by the unwavering love and support of her mother, PJ. Frisha’s lifelong passion for working with children started early, carrying dolls everywhere and gravitating to babies, whether it was during her own dance or gymnastics lessons or simply while visiting with family. Raised by a single mother who balanced a full-time job, college, and the role of both mother and father, Frisha learned firsthand the values of independence, resilience, and dedication. PJ’s commitment provided Frisha with a solid foundation and a belief that she could achieve anything she set her mind to.

Growing up, Frisha filled her home with children, hosting friends and cousins during summers and embracing every babysitting opportunity in high school. Known as a responsible and caring sitter, she developed a strong reputation and a long list of references. Her love for teaching was solidified during her time as a teacher’s aide in high school, and she pursued a degree in early childhood development while working in preschool classrooms. Over the next decade, Frisha honed her teaching skills, while PJ, always supportive, advanced her own career to become a senior accountant and business owner.

The Vision for Moore Learning
When Frisha became a mother, she realized the importance of play-based learning environments and sought a preschool that matched her values. Unable to find a local center that emphasized child-led learning, she began her journey at home, creating a licensed, play-focused preschool for her daughter and neighborhood children. Moore Learning quickly became a popular choice, with a waiting list that soon led her to expand, hire staff, and deepen her commitment to early childhood education.

PJ and her husband, Rob, recognized the potential for Moore Learning to become a center, and together they discovered a neglected building in town with great promise. With PJ’s background in accounting and Frisha’s experience in early childhood education, they transformed this space into Moore Learning Preschool & Childcare Center with the help of family and friends.

Our Commitment to Families and Children
Today, Moore Learning Preschool & Childcare Center offers families in Elk Grove a unique, nurturing alternative to corporate daycare. We’re proud to provide a safe, family-like environment where children explore, play, and develop essential life skills through imaginative and social play.
